Electrical and automotive components

Apart from the electrical parts shop on the north side of Thepprasit, are there any other parts shops I can check at? I need the following H4 male and female connectors (for car headlights) and a couple of load resistors.

Boy Air on Sukhumvit couldn't help, neither could the Auto LED & HID shop just north of Makro.

Thanks!

NL

I would take a look around Worachak intersection,

some shops in Thanon Worachak and some shops in Thanon Luang.

The sockets you may also find in the Baan Mo area.

Have you tried the auto parts shops on northbound Sukhumvit just past the ESSO station at Tai? The electrical shop just down from N. Pattaya bus station maybe...otherwise try Lazada.

All good suggestions, thanks. Parking up and going door-to-door on the Sukhumvit shops probably best bet. That's how I managed to get some other ones a few years ago up in Udon. Handy facet of Thai retail is they all tend to open next door to each other!

If you don't mind waiting a few days for shipping, I've been able to find most everything I need, but can't find in Thailand, on eBay.  I prefer using merchants located in mainland China, Hong Kong, Korea, or Taiwan as their proximity to Thailand means lower and quicker shipping as compared to either Europe or USA.  If you don't mind waiting 2 to 4 weeks, many merchants in these countries often have free shipping.  Happy shopping :-) .

Good question and useful information for all us motorists being posted.

PS. I am not a businessman but I remember asking a friend one time why many businesses of the same type seem to open up next to each other, like tailors, fruit shops, furniture, restaurants etc., His answer was...if a person was looking for a suit (in the good old days) he would head for the area where all the suits were sold....he wouldn't head for the fish market.....made sense to me. Hope you get the part. I suppose you can get a lot of this stuff on the Internet these days.

I needed an electrical box for an Audi and the first shop I went to said "no problem" (cost 19,000 mind you). I told him I was surprised he could get it so easily. Straight up he told me..."I get it on the Internet"

I thought to myself......"There's one in the eye for you...Dotpoon".

Got everything except the resistors so I will probably resort to amazon.co.uk and get my sister to zip it over here in parallel with my regular mail drop.

The shops near Esso on Sukhumvit couldn't help but found the female connectors at Santi opposite Foodland and the male connectors (rare as hobby horse sh!t) at a car audio/bling shop next to the Esso on Sukhumvit in Naklua.

I did check eBay and Chinese mainland suppliers abound but the last time I bought a laptop battery that was listed as 'item in Hong Kong' with a 8-10 day shipping notice ultimately shipped from Sweden and took a month!

Head down the bypass to the 36, turn left and immediately on your left is an autoshop that has a selection of electrical stuff.

Is that head east on the 7 spur, left on 36 and somewhere before Regents?

Gotcha! Real close to Mrs NL's Isaan Stinky Food Emporium!

There's also a fair few on Highway 3 immediately north of the 36 junction headed towards Laem Chabang (both sides), batteries, tires so possibly some other lighting and bling shops in among that lot.

There's 2 shops, side by side. mainly for big trucks but have all sorts of LED lights, bling and 24 V stuff. Didn't have my connectors or resistors but I did see some awesome 4-piece air horn sets that I measured up to see if they'll fit my 'sports lorry'.

Sorry to ask for an update but is there still an Auto Parts Store  , on Sukhamvit , about a mile further on from the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital ?

Not sure which side this is on , the same as the hospital or on the other side ?

Looking for brake pads .

Thanks,

Jim

B-Quick have Bendix brake shoes and will fit them all inclusive around 1600 baht.
