Ceramic Heat Lamp for birds

I have worked with livestock and chickens in many countries since the 1960's.

I would be VERY wary of using ceramic heat lamps.   My experience with these on a very large farm in the Middle East was that 2 very very expensive buildings caught fire, thousands of chickens died.   The problem was the shape and the weak points on the ceramic bar.

At that time, 1980's,  an American company had introduced a glass bar element, not shaped in any way.

The heat out put was excellent and the heat spread was phenomenal.

I have never ever found a better alternative.

I am not sure if you intend to use for livestock or another use.

If your using for chicken or ducks ensure you have enough in each brooding area.

Most large chicken or duck farms use gas brooders, yes they are cheap BUT they burn up the precious oxygen in the house / brooding area / and can quickly produce wet litter.    With ducks they are notorious, if total management of the livestock is poor, for creating "wet back" and all it's associated issues and losses

If for brooding I would suggest using infra - red lamps in smaller brooding areas.   If not ensure your house management is very good..
