BANGKOK — A businesswoman who crashed her BMW into eight cars on a busy road Tuesday evening in Bangkok was allowed to go to hospital without any charges or drug test, despite witness accounts of her erratic behavior.

Police on Wednesday morning had yet to press any charges against Kritrada Tabtimphol, 28, because she was too shocked to speak to cops, according to a Suphachai Harnkhamla, deputy chief of Huai Khwang Police Station, who added that it was up to the hospital to perform a drug test on the suspect.

''Pol. Pawinwich Saenaplang of Huai Khwang Police Department said Kritada refused to cooperate during questioning at the police station. Instead, she prayed and meditated on the floor and attempted to take her clothes of. The police ended up sending her to Paolo Memorial Hospital after she passed out.''

Not the usual day at the office then.

Sounds like she needs psychiatric help and support more than anything else.

Unless she resides at the Overstay guest house that is...

Despite her background, and regardless of her "celebrity status", until proven otherwise, it would appear that the girl has some serious health issues.

Everyone should be thankful that no lives were lost as a result of her actions, and one hopes that (if she is indeed intent on self-harm), she receives proper attention for whatever is causing her such distress.

but not a reason to not enforce a drug test

Thais have a strange definition of attractiveness sometimes. She's not ugly, but she's certainly not a model. These skinny birds with gaunt faces really do look unhealthy.

Thais seem to like malnourished, bleached white look.  Diet pills figure.  The malnutrition must be making her really depressed.

My pity is extremely limited!

If she was really in treatment and under the influence of some "medicine"...what was she doing, driving a car?

And why wasn't she arrested right away?

Another "I am so hi-so and so stressed, I can do no drug test right now"- case?

I think I would need a flag.

It is a shame that like many girls in the west Thai girls now live and die by the responses or lack of responses they get on the internet.

If a person is rushed to hospital with the injuries and issues that she had then a drug test is mandatory so tht they can combat them.

It should be interesting though to follow this.
