Lentils for Soup.

Featured Replies

With me living about 60 Ks from the nearest city, I have not looked for lentils yet, are they readily available in Tesco Lotus or Big C?

Or maybe I have to go to a western food supermarket. Still looking for Julies "Rich Tea Oat Biscuits".

Yes, have seen them at both Tesco & Big C. Good luck.

Thanks.

I have trouble finding lentils or any pulses for that matter locally...I brought some back with me from saudi and today made a pot of brown lentils with carrots and pork which was nice...at tesco/lotus you can get  packaged fatback pork with the rind which is good for the stew, and a good substitute for the smoked sausage that is called for in the recipe and impossible to find locally...

Thanks.

I have just been the Lotus, Big C and Makro, no lentils.

What about stores like Tops, Villa etc? Surely you can buy

packets of lentils somewhere in Thailand.

I  have found dried lentils in Makro in the Indian food section and also next to the flour with peanuts, and other grains like barley. Big C also have tinned lentils with the tinned kidney beans etc. That was in Phuket but they may be in similar areas of your local store.

In Pattaya you can buy green lentils and brown lentils in Best Supermarket, Friendship Market and Foodland.

Never seen lentils in Big C or Lotus.

TOPS and Villa both have them.  Villa has the best range, imported from India, including red lentils and Kali dhal which aren't available at TOPS.
