Some old vehicles on different places. Only the old fort is still for using, all others broken.

  • Passed this place on one of my walks around Bangkok, instantly felt in love with the place

  • I didn't take this in Thailand, but it is certainly abandoned-building related, and I started this thread so hopefully that gives me some flexibility ???? . I just returned to Bangkok from a few weeks

Is it a working or deserted temple helbob ?

I am not sure, maybe it is not finished now because the concrete is not painted and without tiles. The dirt road looks like not used for long time. The temple area was not cleaned for a long time.

These recents temples (Here it looks more like a simple stupa and not an entire temple)

in the middle of nowhere are build with the donations from the faithtul, when a monk or the abbot in another temple, in Bangkok or in another big city, native from the area, decides to ''mark'' his native territory with a holy construction, also providing this way some job for the locals usualy charged to do the work and being paid for it.

When finished it becomes also an ''attraction'' to visit and drain some tourists

in the area, something that can be beneficial for the local population

Usualy regular visits are organised by the religious accompagned by the donators

on the site to motivate more donations and show the use of the money.

There are still a lot of wealthy Thais more than happy to do some ''merits'' in this way

at least it was the case before covid.

My guess is with the covid crisis the donations have dried, or the monk\abbot is sick or dead, probably due to old age, hence the unfinished construction and the stop on the cleaning, nobody being paid anymore for it.

It is rather interesting. It's the back wall of the Portuguese Embassy. The artist is Portuguese.

I think next year many resorts look like this beach building. But this one is already a few years old.

They drank beers, smoked pot, played reggae music and then they all left.

The beach is still beautiful in Koh Tao.

Surprising that no one has salvaged the water tank.

Some tree hugging German apparently was running this bar imposing 10,000 baht fines for throwing a cigarette butt.

He did what humans are best at, made a profit, or probably a loss, and left a sad mess behind.

Mol, you should be ashamed of yourself!

Schweinehund.

Very interesting, but did you mean that it was powered by old coconuts, or it was a powerplant used to process coconuts??

There was a time when woodchip power generators were going to be all the rage, but I don't think they caught on?

I think was powered by old coconuts because i saw some coconut wood

Been passing by this property for over a decade now. Other than a periodic weeding of the yard, the structure itself has stayed in the current condition. I'm beginning to think it's haunted!
