BANGKOK: -- An alleged rapist tried to escape though the ceiling after an attack on a Vietnamese girl at some flats in Bangkok last night.

Khok Khram police called to the block in Soi Nuan Jan in Bung Kum district found the man trying to climb down from the ceiling outside the room where the incident took place, reports Manager Online.

Twenty one year old Seksan Parinyaseri, from Nong Bua Lamphu, refused to come down and hid himself among the rafters.

Police had to break down the ceiling to extricate him and pull him down to make an arrest.

Two Vietnamese girls were staying in the room. At around midnight Lungtiwan, 25, said she had invited her friend Ortiyu, 23, to go out and buy some pot noodles to bring back to eat.

Lungtiwan believes they were followed by the man. After they got back to the room there was a knock at the door and the alleged assailant barged his way in. A conversation took place for ten minutes and the man refused to leave.

Lungtiwan stepped out to make a telephone call and the man locked the door and then tried to rape her friend, she said. Ortiyu screamed out and fought back as possessions in the room were scattered in the struggle.

Lungtiwan called a friend who helped break down the door. The assailant fearing capture escaped into the ceiling and made his way to the corridor where he was finally apprehended by police who arrived on the scene.

Police said that the alleged rapist is yet to be charged as he is drunk and incoherent. All parties will be interviewed today to get to

the truth of what happened.

Hey, come on!

Give the local guy a chance to make up a story at least.

Maybe, maybe not.

I'd be all for stringing the guy up by his juevos if it's exactly as the woman says.

But it's possible he's only guilty of theft of services or running out on a bill.  That's why the interview (and a little investigating) is appropriate.

Investigate for sure.

However it is clear what happened.

Just another pissed up piece of crap thinking he has the right to assault women because 'he felt the need for sex' [i'm pretty sure that's what this creature will say]

Scum.

This is like blaming the rain for road accidents. Fairly predictable that he will say it was the drink that caused the attempted rape.

'Police said that the alleged rapist is yet to be charged as he is drunk and incoherent'

But not too drunk to be kicking doors in and then monkeying around in the ceiling running from the police.

How secure are these buildings constructed when you can get from a room to the hallway (or vice versa) through the ceiling? So anyone can get into any room from accessing the ceiling? Why bother having locks on the doors?

Or did the reporter just get this wrong....again?

In that case the police need arrest the drink

First why two women staying alone allowed a man to visit them ?  and Why they had 10 minutes conversation ?

He followed them home.

The conversation was most likely trying to get rid of a belligerent, drunk, arrogant piece of faeces.

He barge into the room after knocking on their doors when the girls open to answer it. not got into the room from the hallway via the ceiling. he escaped into the ceiling after the lungtiwan friend to help.

You either didn't read the article or have difficulty understanding what you read. Try it again and all will might be clear.

So you are suggesting the ladies were on the game...

I hope the BiB do not have your unfounded opinion and investigate this incident properly.

No but it actually reads like he escaped from the room trough the ceiling and was caught in the corridor if you read this:

" Lungtiwan called a friend who helped break down the door. The assailant fearing capture escaped into the ceiling and made his way to the corridor where he was finally apprehended by police who arrived on the scene. "

However it might be either way.

I have no clue what happened- other than a second hand, poorly translated version of one side of a story that involved several people.  Which is exactly why I think they should investigate properly before they declare him guilty and hang the guy.

The unfounded opinions are the ones formed before they even investigate.

He didn't kick any doors in and wasn't able to run from the police.

There is nothing wrong with the report, translation or not, and the English is better than many native English speakers posters here can manage.

The only thing wrong is that we only have one side of the story, and we don't even know whether the Vietnamese women were clearly understood when they told their side of the story.

Maybe.  Maybe not.  Without investigation, it's hard to tell.  But the TVF hang-em-high brigade has the guy judged already.

Hard to blame the guy when you consider that his entire life he's been told that he's a great wonderful Thai male and he's superior to women who exist purely to feed and satisfy him and bring him money. And as a Thai he's vastly superior to anyone from the neighboring countries, so Vietnamese women are fair game as they're certainly inferior to Thai.

If the guy did nothing wrong why was he in the ceiling?

Sounds like he could have left by the door that was locked after the 1st girl left to make a phone call.

"... and we don't even know whether the Vietnamese women were clearly understood when they told their side of the story."      There is no suggestion that they were misunderstood either but that wasn't the point of my comment.

No, I don't think so; a false ceiling and flimsy foam ceiling tiles are not unusual. Any room on a particular floor can be accessed from any other room, or, indeed, from the corridor.
