The embassy will type out a letter for you. They did it for me without any issues.

Simply pay them a visit, they will check through the Department of Home Affairs to see if you are married and if it comes back as not then the letter will be signed and stamped. Just try to ask them to sign in blue ink as I had a few issues when the Thai departments though it was a copy.
