Try spelling my nick right, Dumbasstheycome - it's simply courteous.

The OP, to quote your words "expressed concerns  about exposure to harmful  radiation  from scanning equipment at airports".

As such your comments about "relatively  long term exposure to  cosmic  radiation on such long term  flights" is 100% off topic.

its  TOTALLY relevant imo

Do they have 'body scanners' at airports in Thailand ?

Guess you've never been to the airport. You've entered Thailand but never departed even once since the 1st entry? :shock1:

I haven't left Thailand since almost 3 years ago. Maybe things were different back then, I can't remember.

Ive not seen any body scanners at Suvarnabhumi airport. Only the walk through metal detectors.

There is one at least for transit passengers from domestic to international.

If I were a pregnant frequent traveler I'd be more concerned about the radiation we all get on every flight from the environment.

Yes, certainly at Swampy, can't speak for the others.

The US has them too.  I am a dude, and because I was departing with a family, I was directed to use the traditional metal scanner.  I dare say this seems a bit discriminatory?  Why should a single person get to enjoy the new scanners, but those that are married and with family do not?

P.S.  It is my understanding that those persons that fly on an airplane will receive loads more radiation (from the sun) than they will from any device operating on the ground.
