i think its about time these so called "JUDGES"  were investigated, starting with the Judge who let that bar steward off for kicking the <deleted> of that little lad.

Or find some that are honest normal people and pay them a decent wage and keep checks on them and their families for unusual money

What about the barriers he drove through prior to the accident ?

Was high on something.

But let's not forget he's a HiSo.  Different rules.

There's more at work here than the killer driver alone. Hi-so types, and those in power can't afford to have one of their own bought to justice. It makes it easier for them to be appropriately punished the next time one of them kills again. Remember the Red Bull heir?

Thailand is given many opportunities, time and time again, to show the people and the world, that it has morals and a fair justice system

But they throw away such an opportunity time and time again.... Another side benefit is the PR for Thailand would be amazing, if just someone high up could figure it out

... maybe we should start our own policeforce? I'm willing to pay for that.

No need for "our own policeforce". If you are willing to pay the regular police will work for you as well.

IIRC most of the time when someone commits a crime the sentence is reduced if they plead guilty. However he has only pleaded guilty on the least of the charges so in theory if he is found guilty on the other 4 charges he will get no discount on his sentences.

With a bit of luck they will run consecutively so he will spend more time in jail.

I would hope so. However....

Concurrent and suspended?

And as if this creature isn't disgusting enough, read this.

http://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/2016/11/29/jenphop-faces-fresh-lawsuit-fatal-crash/

“The former lawyer told the court his client was willing to pay the amount the car owner requested, which was 300,000 baht,” Prinya said. “But the new lawyer said the client will only pay 50,000 baht. So the court told us to file a civil lawsuit.”

Prinya said Jenphop’s plea of not guilty was entirely expected, but he and others were surprised by his refusal to pay for the car.

“I think it’s too much of a disgrace,” the lawyer said, “the judges also laughed when they heard this.”

He is 100% correct.

In the Ford were Kritsana Thaworn, 32, and Thanthaphat Horsaengchai, 34.

Kritsana was the young lady and Thanthaphat was a man.

Do a simple Google search and get YOUR facts correct before decrying others. If you read the other English language newspaper you will find the story and the photos of the two victims.

Having seen the photos you should apologise to oldsailor35.

I certainly would if I had screwed up.

A new traffic law requires police to test motorists involved in accidents for alcohol or drug use.
Any refusal automatically leads to a charge of DUI.
This is the law.
This fact must actually be on the docking list.

Also driving at over 200 km/h, on the highways, the maximum speed is 120 km/h.
Also the deliberate breach of a highway barrier is punishable.
It not was only negligent driving,
it was negligent driving with a double death result.
Double negligent manslaughter is the right designation.

It looks like as his lawyers are cherries picking in the law book for the slightest punishment.
Hope the court added here the penalties accordingly.

By Teeranai Charuvastra, Staff Reporter -

Jenphop Viraporn and his mother leave the court on Monday in Ayutthaya province.

AYUTTHAYA — Legal troubles are piling up for millionaire Jenphop Viraporn, who on top of a vehicular manslaughter trial for killing two graduate students eight months ago, now faces a civil suit for refusing to pay damages for the car he wrecked.

A lawyer for the one of the victim’s families Tuesday threatened the suit after Jenphop reneged on paying the compensation he’d promised for the Ford which went up in flames after he slammed into it on March 13, killing Krissana Thaworn and classmate Thantapat Horsaengchai inside.

The media is at it again; wondering where the THB 3 come from in the claim of a total of THB 100,635,503?

For the time being (yes, it's close to xmas) nothing went wrong; he claims something and the court needs to find out, if the claim can be validated and is true.

I wonder...

Can a person be deliberately negligent?

How about if said person was driving in well excess of the speed limit which resulted in the deaths of 2 innocent people?

...assuming he was deliberately exceeding the speed limit and not doing 140mph by accident.
