Agreed. I have been on both sides of the law for various reasons, and a demonstration of respect has seen me through unscathed in all my dealings.

 

There may have been expenses in some cases, but the alternative would have been far worse.

 

I have learned to respect rather than fear the police and remain cool and very polite in all my dealings with them.

 

Controlling your western sense of entitlement can be a very effective way of getting a positive result.

I find the amount of money you have to make a bigger difference. I guess we all have different takes on it.
