^Thank Hammers! Obviously MyBj's and my comments on these pages jeedup the Hammers to get the result City and WHU needed ;-)

Yep. Well done Hammers. I've liked West Ham ever since MrSingh used to post on here. biggrin.png

Must admit though, that bubbles song gets on your nerves after a bit. Don't know how lifers can sing it every week

It's ok when it's sung well, but it usually isn't. At least at away games.

Man Utd seem to have the dullest chants in football. Very monotonous.

We haven't had a league gate under 10,000 since the war..

Is that right the ground is being renamed to Westfield Shopping Centre Stadium?

I ask this in all seriousness

Don't you buy the recorder ?

http://www.newhamrecorder.co.uk/news/boleyn_ground_development_approved_with_minimum_of_25_affordable_housing_1_4452551

Why would I buy the recorder and can you answer my question?

Here is the name of the developers of the site.

Barratt London and Galliard Homes.

Give them a bell if you need to know so badly.

Cheers.

I know I can't sleep at night for the thought of it.

Horrid, horrid little club.

They are a second/third tier club who have had a decent season.

Can't wait for the day they are back where they belong and playing

in front of 10,000.

Horrible venue long soulless walk through shopping centre and

awful view in the cheaper seats........get the binoculars out. The

fans used to the closeness of the game at Upton Park are in for

the shock of a lifetime.

It's nothing like the new Premiership grounds.

We haven't had a league gate under 10,000 since the war..

Close though and nice average gate (16,001) biggrin.png

Fair enough, but we were in what was the 2nd division then and the game seems to have been on TV (it was on a Sunday)..

You'd think considering the occasion, circumstances and their recent debacle at Spurs, United would have a plan to avoid this situation, turning up an hour or 2 earlier.

So by your reasoning the mob violence was justified due to the team bus being late sad.png

Do you have any knowledge as to what hotel United were using and the arrangements made with the coach company as to the pick up time/proximity from the ground/estimated arrival time etc.A police escort is provided for all away teams and it is the police that determine the timing.

And sitting in an away dressing room twiddling your thumbs for a couple of hours before kick off especially at a dump of a ground would be your preference if you were a footballer would it whistling.gif

Not sure how you interpret my opinion on United's bad planning as justification for mob violence?

My knowledge or lack there of, regarding Untied's logistical schedule/coordination and movements is irrelevant. It's still bad planning and police escort timings are not determined solely by the police.

I'm sure they'd find plenty to keep themselves entertained for an extended period, posting videos and pics on social media for example.

I see it as inept policing combined with drunken idiot behaviour. It wasn't a coordinated ambush. A big crowd built up around the junction as it' near th Boleyn pub and the statue of the WC66 heroes and a lot of people had been drinking for hours by the time the coach arrived.

Then again, who doesn't want to throw things at Wayne Rooney?

Reports in the Manchester Evening News yesterday suggests that the turnstiles only opened at 18.40 and already huge crowds had built up.

The Police are solely responsible for policing and security outside Premiership grounds and an escort is sent to see the teams bus arrives safely and on time, this is determined solely by the police. To blame United for the late/delayed arrival is incorrect. whistling.gif

It's true about the turnstiles. At least the rain had stopped..

Normally, the buses would arrive at about 6pm for a night game. But this bus wasn't even in the vicinity as far as I could tell. The West Ham bus turned up to a heroes welcome, but I was inside for some time before theirs arrived. I missed the action on the street unfortunately.

It was 2nd division at a time when football wasn't as in fashion as now. We also had gates over 24k that year.

You'd be better off just saying that you were a small club hence the low attendances rather than just making excuses biggrin.png

I remember Spurs getting some poor gates in the 80s as well. Things were different pre-premier league.

The result i noted wasn't in the 80's and 1992/1993 wasn't pre-premiership !

It was the 1st season of the premiership and we weren't in it.

Karen Brady ( West Ham vice-chairman) yesterday made a statement admitting they never seen the crowds outside the ground as big before AND confirmed that the Manchester United team bus was held up round the corner from the ground for well over one hour thumbsup.gif

Disappointing result considering our first half but the Spurs drubbing really made up for it.

Not to bothered about the Spursday night Europa League anyway, although I've heard a whisper it could still change regarding certain FA cup and Europa league final results respectively.

Commiserations. In the final analysis Southampton and Koeman were just that little bit stronger for the run in. We all enjoyed you dumping LVG and the Reds out of the Champions League! There is some justice in the world.

Not according to the table I looked at on BBC sport 2 minutes before I posted (and again just now). I don't discount being a muppet but in this case, given that Stoneyboy did not contradict me in liking the post I suspect you need to do better research before chucking brickbats around ya' plonker.

So if Man Utd win the FA cup we enter the Europa Spursday night league in the 3rd qualifying round.

http://www.whufc.com/News/Don-t-Miss/Hammers-face-wait-on-Europe

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing in all fairness.

Can we have such posts deleted and warnings etc issued mrboj now we are a top CL side? tongue.png

Smokes, what have I told you about speaking too soon. You could get knocked out at the group stage and end up in the competition you love so much. tongue.png

Some fantastic items up for grabs from the Boleyn ground auction.

Disappointed - no night out with the CEO!

[Met Brady at a biz cocktail party briefly maybe 15 years ago - one hell of a woman; still looks pretty nice for a 47yo, though actually I would have put her as a 37ish yo when I met her!]
