OFFICERS tasked with raiding Dhammakaya Temple on Tuesday remain unsure whether they would be able to arrest fugitive monk Phra Dhammachayo.

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) yesterday disclosed it had already secured a warrant from the court and would search the temple premises by next week. Dhammakaya Temple’s former abbot Phra Dhammachayo is wanted on charges of money laundering and receiving stolen property.

Why don't they just admit the will isn't there for a raft of reasons and will do all they can not to make an arrest but rather channel all their energy into finding ludicrous excuse after ludicrous excuse. ?

i sincerely hope this is being reported around the world so a country obsessed with face is being laughed at everywhere.

If being nice doesn't work, start with shutting down services to the center where he stays,

water electricity and garbage collection for few hours every day,

block all bank accounts belonging to the temple and the inner circle, blockade the area

from people coming and going, in short, make life difficult for everyone there

and all with a smile.... see how long he will last...

Prayut and his pals staged a military coup to save Thailand from anarchy (so they said).

Yet they are unable to enforce the law against 1 man.

Bunch of hypocrites thats what they are, unable/ unwilling to arrest 1 man   pathetic.

Great post. Yes, let us hope that this comedy to beat all comedies is being reported on and laughed at and mocked and ridiculed, as it deserves, all around the globe.

But still the fools involved will not realise that they have 'lost face' big-time!

If DSI feel "unsure" and the Police seem to have no appetite, for making an

arrest, then that just leaves the Army, send them in without guns, just long

bamboo sticks and a shield, some water cannons,CS gas,if sent in ,in

numbers,i am sure they would be able to find and arrest the ex Abbot,

This debacle makes the Government look very weak,I am sure any other

Government  in the World would have sorted this out long ago.

No mention in the West yet.

Not if he is surrounded by THOUSANDS of followers. This will not end happily nor judicially correct.

To develop on a point chainarong just made, the authorities wouldn't have a problem steaming in and cracking skulls if those followers were dressed in red shirts or student uniforms. This has been proven time and again...

What a brilliant post, Baboon! Very, very, very true. Cannot argue with a word you say.

The officers were not sure they would be able to arrest Phra Dhammachayo, as they would strictly adhere to non-violence and avoid any clashes with the temple’s followers.

Alerting their adversary of the plan to capture them. Ridiculous.

It's absolute nonsense yet there's no shame in the way they play around and pass it off as taking ' considered ' action.

Little wonder the junta wants as much control of the internet and media as possible,.

As a side issue, BBC World Service radio isn't currently available through TRUE Visions.

There's only course of action that will work here.........bring back Chalerm!

Thats a good idea. Chalerm will know exactly where all the stolen money is and every person involved in this monumental theft.

The only problem is for various reasons he wont be able to say, as usual.

Maybe if he was called in as a consultant he could sit down with the abbot and sort it over a glass or two of ear medicine.

The solution is quite simple... lay seige to the place.   Isolate it totally from the outside world.  Allow nothing to enter, not even doctors or lawyers.  Cut off all utilities and block cell phone coverage.  Search and identify anyone leaving.  They will all come out in time.

Good idea, but I do wonder if there were escape tunnels put in when place was built....

You have to laugh. If he were some pleb who'd clicked "like" on some politically-incorrect Facebook posting his feet wouldn't have touched the ground.

So true. And it goes to show, yet again, what utter, contemptible cowards - moral and physical - the 'authorities' are.

The solution is quite simple... force the door, arrest the guy and anyone willing to interfere.

The guy is a crook. Any resistance is complicity.

Stop the joke.

Emster, this might  be DSI's master plan: make enough delays to ensure the digging is all done.  One team excavating from the inside, DSI specialists from the outside.

Hey DSI after you've finished mulling this massive problem, why don't you buy a load of rubber truncheons, rubber bullets & rubber policemen? Nobody gets hurt & the rubber farmers are saved?
