Wifi or connection limited

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a friend who is connected to my wifi  ( fiber ), and yesterday he came to me because he said he has lost my password ( ? ) so I wrote it again

and then I saw written " connection limited " or " wifi limited" ( I don't remember "; the important word is " limited " ); what does it mean and how to solve it? ;  it doesn't come from me , my connection is very good ( this text proves it ) ; I have read on the Internet that there are several reasons and several methods to apply , but I have not yet his computer with me ( laptop ); what are your suggestions ? because I want to  help him

Thanks

Right click on the Network icon (I'm assuming it has a yellow icon on it), and select "Troubleshoot problems".

So has you friend tried to make a connection with the correct password?

Also, have him "Restart" his computer assuming he is using Win 8.X or Win 10 .   Note I said Restart and not Shut Down or Sleep.

Have him do a Restart, delete the old Wifi logon connection he had been using, then make a new connection with the correct password.

If that don't work, try holding the Shift key down while selecting Power Down.

And if that don't work try turning off Fast Startup (a.k.a, Fast Boot) and then reboot.  You can then turn Fast Startup back on.

All of these various power down/restart variations clears out temporarily Windows files and recreates new ones which may fix your problem.

I have sometimes been late paying my bills and I have gotten the "Limited" yellow icon when either my ISP or TOT bill is overdue, usually about a week before the shut-off date.
