Specialty Prescriptions in Thailand

Featured Replies

New to this site,  retired 2016 and planning to permanently move to Thailand in 2017. Currently on 4th long term visit.  I take a number of specialty medications (Ampyra,  Aubagio and Modafinil)  2 or the 3 not available via regular pharmacy even in US). Right now I am trying to run down the best path to determine if they would even be available in Thailand. Any insight or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Like you, I'm having troubles finding these meds here in Thailand, even under their generic names.

Tried the MIMS book, no joy.

Suggest you check at a hospital for availability, perhaps with a doctor for alternative meds.

Depends where you are but there's a highly recommended (by expat friends) Thai pharmacy on Rama 4 on the right of Charn Issara Tower between Silom & Surawong - on the right if your back is to the road. Ask the older women in there. Very experienced and passable English. Generic viagra for 180 baht too ;)
