Annoying Malware Bytes Popups.

Featured Replies

I installed a free version of Malware Bytes a couple of weeks ago, and since then I keep getting this same annoying popup that appears every few seconds. It's a big box that has a Website Blocked heading, with Manage Exclusions underneath. It's the same website address that keeps showing, for uTorrent. I have gone into the Malware Bytes settings and there is a Turn Off notifications function which doesn't seem to make any difference. In fact, when I go back and have another look, that function is automatically Turned On again. The other annoying thing is, if I'm in the middle of typing, nothing will appear as long as the popup is there. If I can't get rid of the bloody thing I will have to uninstall Malware Bytes and hope that solves the problem.

Q: And you are convinced that this a false alarm?

Blocking suspicious websites is one of the jobs of this tool.

What address is it?

If Q is yes: maybe other users can explain how to tell the tool to ignore this website (alarm off).

Or turn off this blocking website feature at all (maybe not the best idea).

Of course I want Malware to block suspicious sites, what I don't want is a reminder every few seconds that they are doing it.

It looks like I may have overcome the problem. The version of malware Bytes I downloaded included a couple of weeks free trial of the premium version. I cancelled that and just kept the free version, which doesn't seem to be showing the pop-up.
