Well she did say it didn't she. She said , concerning the appalling example that was set by Trump (without naming him) that 'Disrespect breeds disrespect, Violence breeds violence'. So when the President Elect of the already greatest Country on Earth the United States of America mocks a disabled reporter then the message is 'all disabled folks are open to mocking and abuse, and hey lets go one further with torture, doesn't the Pres Elect say he likes torture as well??'.

Trump will take the USA and it's already 'Greatness' down the toilet, while his 3 little piggies (and some more) spend whatever time they can cashing in on the Trump brand. All Americans should be ashamed that this has been allowed to happen. And maybe all foreigners should be ashamed for doing nothing but eat popcorn and watch the show while our number 1 ally self destructs in front of us and thereby threatens the safety and well being of all our families.

Even the fact that there are an army of lawyers trying all arguments they can to prove that Kushner can be an Advisor because the White House is not 'Technically and Agency' and DJT does not 'technically' have to show his tax returns is utterly shameful. This is not one of his casino's he is going to run to destruction and make a mockery of, it is the USA.

Streep is absolutely entitled to free speech, and if DJT can spend airtime during a presidential debate call Rosie O'Donnell a fat pig (but supporters thought that OK because its just locker room talk) then Streep is entirely entitled to give an impassioned plea to her supporters that were watching her to stop this madness that has taken over the USA like some kind of contagious disease.

She's an actress not a political commentator and should stick to that. I'm fed up with these overpaid Prima Donnas thinking they know something about politics, or science or the arts. They are ACTORS and should mind their PC arrogance and 'luvvie' opinions'

ok and CNN bias?  and all the rest???  the 'establishment' did their best to control news media against DT and it infuriated me and millions of others and NO I am not a DT supporter!!!   that is WHY they lost and they don't 'get it'

IF the media and establishment were biased, they would NEVER have covered the stories about Clinton would they?? Think about it. If the media were biased they would have turned off their cameras and turned their backs at every Rally Trump called them dishonest and liars.  So get 'infuriated' if you must, but you are bursting your blood vessels over the wrong thing.! It is TRUMP, and the words that come from HIS MOUTH (not edited or played up) that should infuriate you!

His words NOT made up by the press!

So Trump who knows nothing about Politics can talk about it? Is Trump an Actor? how come its ok for him to slag off Swazenegger and Streep and the cast of the Broadway Show in NYC? Shouldn't he just stick to what he knows? Do you have to be a politician to say ''Disrespect breeds disrespect, Violence breeds violence'?? Do you have to be a politician to comment on how disgraceful it is that the President Elect openly mocked a disabled person? I think they are taking 'Flouride out the water there and pouring in Fascism in it's place'.

Hunter Thompson said of Nixon: 'He never let me down'. Trump will not disappoint and he is doing just great so far.

No but Nixon sure let down the extra 20 000 sons and daughters of America and untold number of Vietnamese that died as a result of him scuppering the peace process so he could snatch the Presidency. If Nixon were alive now he would be jailed till he died for treason. But he 'never let Hunter Thompson' down. Whoopee do!

He knows enough to defeat numerous Republicans for the chance to run against an establishment Democrat and win a presidential election that was widely considered unwinnable.  :shock1:

No, he knows nothing. All he did was lie about his opposition, mock them during debates and then go ahead and do exactly the same thing as they were doing. During his debates he never even discussed politics and when he did he made a fool of himself with his lack of knowledge. He won simply by bullying and lying about ALL of his opponents and then claiming he never said it. He won by avoiding politics and appealing to the deplorables who also know nothing about politics, but know lots about locker room talk that is just disgusting talk. I am not a democrat or a Republican. I genuinely felt sorry for some of the Republicans that were on stage with him in the debates that were openly lied about and mocked after they have given a lifetime to the USA in political service. Trump is a shocking example of a human.

I don't see why people pay attention to the political opinions of celebrities.  Generally speaking, their opinions are not particularly well informed and they are nearly never experts in the field they are commenting on.

But what's more concerning to me is that the president elect is so thin skinned that he feels compelled to respond every slight; whether real or imagined.  Has he never heard the axiom that one should never "punch down".  He's the President-Elect of the United States of America for god's sake, and he's sparring publicly with an actress.

Trump loves to talk about bias at CNN, NBC News, or anyplace other than Fox News, Brietbart, or Alex Jones. The truth is Trump goes after people who speak badly about him, even if what they are saying is absolutely true. Plese cite me the things that those news networks have said about Donald Trump that were not true?

Trump has had plenty of complaints about Fox News and Fox News commentators. As to the others that you mentioned, why would he even bother with them? I don't.

All true, but the clever thing is that while all the news channels have been examining Trump today for his tweeting of Streep, they have completely ignored that Kushner was yesterday appointed as a Presidential Senior Adviser (sorry brb just got to throw up). The swamp is filling with that horrible yellow swamp smelly stuff. Much much worse than anytime before.

Not physically rigged, but it is highly probable that he would not have won the election without Russia and Julian Assange.  It probably won't reverse his obtaining the presidency.  I believe he will self-destruct anyway, if he doesn't let his advisors run the country, if even they are capable.  In any case, time will tell.  He even said it was rigged remember?

In other words, if the American people had not found out about the corruption inside the DNC (rigging against Bernie / pre-supplied debate questions), and the hypocrisy and duplicity, exposed by the correspondence of Hillary and her campaign chairman, and their associates.

Yes, a real shame we found out the truth, isn't it?

And lord knows, it takes a state-intelligence force to carry out a simple spear-fishing operation (Podesta's emails - whose password was the uncrackable "p@ssword"), no one at the DNC who liked Bernie would have possibly leaked, and intelligence services never lie for political / geo-political reasons.

This man has skin that is thinner than gauze. His heart is the size of a green pea. He is a man child, with underdeveloped emotions, and little sense of self, which is shrouded by a gigantic ego, which covers up a tremendous lack of self esteem. How on earth does anyone refer to Streep as overrated? She is one of the greatest actors of our generation. She has been doing great work for over 30 years. Her performances continue to astonish. And this guy is in a position to evaluate her talent? The only reason why he criticized her, is because she criticized him. He just cannot handle it. If you do not like me, I will hate you forever! I hate people who do not like me!

He is now perhaps the most famous man in the world. He is somehow, going to have to dig deep within himself (is that possible?) and muster up the courage and the manhood, to deal with criticism. He simply cannot lash out at everyone who criticizes him. He would not have any time remaining, to perform his job. Maybe he needs to repeat the mantra "water off a ducks back" a thousand times a day, to himself.

Get a grip man. Get a hold of yourself. Do you have any idea what a fool you appear to be, with the spouting of this nonsense?

If you do a search on twitter with the following:

@donaldtrump, voted, stop, tweeting

you will see a lot of results showing tweets from people who say they voted for him and advising him to stop tweeting and get to work doing the job they elected him to do.

my favorite is by @andramiller who told him to stop acting like a teenage girl who can't control her mouth.

Although I agree that Trump should stop Tweeting so often, he is not actually in office yet. Unfortunately, he can not really "do his job" until he is. The guy in office now is really screwing things up.

I find these award shows to be nothing more than an industry hyping it self by giving bogus awards to its workers

You got that right.  It is nothing more than an attempt to get people to go out and watch a movie they have not seen, buy music they might have missed, etc.  How anyone can possibly sit through hours of this crap is beyond me.  It is all about slapping each other on the back. Doesn't mean there are not good and bad actors/actresses but let's face facts, tickets sales, etc. are the true indicator of what people really think.

Your comment that Trump supporters don't watch Meryl Streep movies is absurd. I can't debate anything with people who make such absurd comments.

Good call. I know lots of Trump supporters and they are a varied bunch. They are certainly no less intelligent than supporters of the Democrats. The only fanatical supporter of Trump that I know is a black women and she is very accomplished. I have to admit that I have not met any Hispanic ones in California though. I would probably have to go to Florida.

Personally, I will not boycott Meryl Streep's work, but I have a lot less respect for her than I did before her petty tirade.

Another untrue statement.  It was all over the news from the moment it occurred, even rated as Breaking News on that wonderful channel, CNN.  But don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.  :wai:

Same goes for Meryl Streep who is the most nominated actor, and has a lot of awards under her belt too. She is clearly not overrated compare to Trump, she has proven herself for the past 30 years. Pretty lame trump needs to take every jab at every insult he perceives. Trump is president and he is having a twitter war like a middle schooler. Grow up!

He can't "grow up" b/c he meets the criteria for mental illness.

Trump supporters, like Trump, attack the messenger rather than address the issue. Bashing Streep for this is pure deflection.  Those who criticize her just look foolish.

Thank you.

I see Trump supporters/defenders typically deflect EVERYTHING Trump. When any are interviewed they will hardly ever answer any question. They are facts deprived or in total denial. Seems like the same on TV.

If his skin gets any thinner he'll be see-through.

In other (humor) news...

RUSSIA BANS MERYL STREEP MOVIES

MOSCOW (The Borowitz Report)—In a sweeping act of official censorship, the Russian government has banned all Meryl Streep movies from the country, effective immediately.

Moviegoers at Moscow’s Kinoteatr 16 movieplex were taken aback on Monday night when government agents stormed the projection booth and seized a copy of “Florence Foster Jenkins,” the 2016 Streep film that was unspooling.

But the full force of the ban was not felt until Tuesday morning, when the Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered police to go door to door, confiscating Streep DVDs from Russian citizens.

No, it's not obvious and does need to be expanded upon. To claim otherwise is absurd.

My comment about trump supporters (in general) not being Meryl Streep's biggest fans (hence, not watching her movies) is obviously true and does not need to be expanded on.

If these comments were made by 50 Cents and I said Trump supporters don't listen to his music anyway would you have disagreed?
