January 22, 20179 yr There are more dental offices on South Pattaya Road than you can shake a tooth brush at. But has anyone tried at least one of them? I need some work done and am staying in the vacinity. Would like to hear from others - the bad, good or ugly.
January 23, 20179 yr One BM wrote an extensive report of his experiences at the Pattaya Smile Dental clinic opposite TukCom. You may find it interesting. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/554145-pattaya-smile-dental-clinic-south-pattaya-rd/#entry5289301 I contacted him about a year later as he'd seemed to find a decent, English-speaking dentist there and I needed a couple of crowns. He told me that the dentist he'd used had returned home to Isaan to work and he'd had some follow-up work done by another dentist there who wasn't as good as the first one and he wasn't entirely happy, so I was back at square one. Many practices have several dentists working there and they tend to come and go as, just like the doctors here, they work at several locations. IMHO you need to find someone who's had recent treatment in one of these clinics and who will give you a personal recommendation for a dentist. Otherwise it's just pot luck. BTW, if the OP of the above link has anything further to add, or if I've got anything wrong, please correct me.
January 23, 20179 yr Worth paying 10 baht and taking the baht bus ALL the way along soi Buakhao to Pattaya klang take a right turn up towards Big C and walk around 200 metres there is a Dental Clinic there called Pattaya Dental Care and a certain Dr Warin Leekpai who,s work and price is the best you will get in Pattaya, problem is he is very busy so contact him in good time, thoroughly recommended by many people. Google Dr Warin Pattaya for further details
January 23, 20179 yr Author Guderian: Thanks for the link. I read that some time ago. But like you mentioned, some dentists come and go from some of these clinics and they may not be there or no longer practice in Pattaya. Petermik: I've read more than once that Dr. Warin on Central Road is professional and as good as they come in Thailand. He might be my first choice, but like you said it may be difficult to see him without an appointment. One thing is certain and that is I will make Thailand my first choice for dental care. I had a tooth pulled last week and it cost me $440. It took the dentist less than 5 minutes to pull out the molar after the freezing set in (10 minutes in the chair while he worked on another patient). I could have saved myself $400 by having it done in Pattaya next month, but I couldn't wait, for the jaw was starting to become swollen from the abscessed tooth and the pain was too much to endure. He wanted to schedule another appointment to fill a couple of cavities. Little did he know that I decided no more North American dentists for me, if I can help it. The North American dental profession has made a fortune through employee plans, but I believe their days of pilfering the public are nearing an end. Cheers
February 23, 20179 yr Hello, I have been told that the best Pattaya dentist is called dentistator near the dolphin round about at Naklua, any feedback ? Thank you.

Not to be off topic, but why do you feel their pilfering party is "nearing an end"? Dental isn't part of ObamaCare, is it? As for local Pattaya dentist, I'd only go to the Munich Dental Clinic and only see the German dentist there. His prices are in line with all the other Thai dentist and he's the real deal. Can do most things from simple cavities to implants. He has a Thai associate who friends also reccomend but I stick with the western trained dentist. He indicates he's the only foreigner licensed to practice in Thailand, not that it matters really. Search google for the location etc.. Cheers mate.(easy location from South Pattaya road, Pattaya Tai)

They also at least used to have a webpage in English. It always looks closed, you enter on the right side of those gates. I'd be surprised if closed permanently, maybe just a Saturday? I'll actually check myself but if you are in a rush, search for the website and get the phone number etc.. Cheers mate. http://www.travel-dental.com/en/about-us/

Instead I was making reference to employer paid dental plans. Some - maybe most? - employers have dental plans and where there is a third party paying the bill - as in this case, the insurance companies and employers - it is easier for service providers - such as dentists - to over charge. If you are retired, your dentist may cut you a better deal on dental work. Mine didn't, hence I'm getting work done in Thailand. Thanks for the reference.

February 28, 20179 yr Munich dental clinic. Good price. Had crown and root done. No pain good job.http://www.travel-dental.com/en/welcome-to-the-munich-dental-clinic-in-pattaya-thailand/Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
April 5, 20178 yr Minor treatments are fine with the local clinics. If you are planning to have some implants or other major dental treatments then it's best to have it done in Bangkok, specifically at Thantakit Dental just to be sure of the quality.
