Airport Link train disabled by bird (Pigeon). The airborne creature hit and broke a pneumatic pipe on the pantograph causing loss of power. Train was stopped for 15 minutes before being recovered to the next station and passengers disembarked.

The bird didn't make it

Questions: Were the trains made in China? Why can a single small bird cause so much damage? What was the origin of the bird ie was it from a muslim country? Was this a terrorists act?

Trains are Siemens, Germany.

The damage wasn't massive, it just dislodged an air pipe causing the pantograph to descend and remove all power from the train. I do find it surprising that a bird could dislodge the pipe mind.

EDIT Alternate Scenario. Pigeon has been dead on top of the train for weeks. Pipe was not properly re-installed after maintenance and blew off under air pressure. Pigeon was found at the scene, blamed, and was unable to defend itself.
