The entire RTP are a pox on the nation and all the good people who reside here. Until the present PM cleans up this entire group, ( top to bottom) it will continue to ignore his orders as well as the law of the land which the rest of us follow, with minor exceptions.

The good general has a chance to go down  in the history of Asia as cleaning up and eliminating a group which would be like curing a run away illness before it wipes out the potential this country has to stand with or even above Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.

My g/f just returned from Singapore and says that the difference between the cops there and here is like day and night.

"The person taking the clip is threatened not to share the footage by a burly cop." Yup, Thai authorities hate facing the truth.

If they (authorities) are doing nothing wrong then they should not fear videos and comment.   Is it any wonder that Government wants to "control"  media?

There you have it in a nutshell. They want to throw the fear of God into people that when they come across an incident like this they will shun it and move on like nice little sheeple. Disgusting

Thais have had 600 years to improve but it only took Singapore/Hong Kong 50 or 60 years to clean up their police forces.

Where there is a will there is a way, unfortunately there seems to be no will

Putting "Fantasy Social Engineering in SE Asia" aside for a moment, it's probably worth remembering that the entire "raison d'etre" of the PM, the Government, the military, the whole infrastructure of the allegedly "legitimate" political class, the judiciary, and those special "good" people on whose behalf they all claim to function is to maintain the status quo (which includes the "traditional" behaviour of the police force)........it's not going to happen.

(On their watch)

Quit training them here and train them in Singapore. Yes your right about Singapore and Hong Kong but it also took a better all around standard of living and a livable pay check to make it happen. Corruption is to inbred here doubt if it could be snuffed out.

Headline is wrong, coffee seller isn't innocent according to the content of the article!

The headline isn't wrong, she is innocent, according to the content of the article, of committing any gambling offences

The police are so good.. risking their lives everyday for the good people of Thailand.

He probably didn't want the identity of the alleged criminal shared online. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

So you believe the only thing standing in the way of Thailand surpassing Singapore is its police force?? (or could it be the situation with the police is simply a symptom of much deeper societal issues)

How can the Thai government allow Plain clothes jerks like these operate and throw people into unmarked and probably uninsured vehicles like that one. Thailand cannot be proud and loses face when this third world mischief is allowed...............

What Thai would want to be an upstanding citizen under rulers (and their subordinated) act like this.......

Thank the "FREE WORLD" for Video phones............

Probably had a cup of her horrible  coffee and decided to help the people queueing so they didn't have to endure it?

Have you drank her coffee? How can you suggest it was horrible?

She may likely been selling there for a while, and the people choose to wait in a line because it was GOOD coffee.

Some people think the coffee cup is Half-FULL but there are folks who comment as you did who think the coffee cup is half-EMPTY......

It is all in how you look at it and how you want to see it..........

All need a lesson in communication, decorum and professionalism

All meaning?

If the RTP is in the meaning (All).... I don't think a lesson or 2 on each of the topics you mentioned will work for many of them. Considering, the extortion claims, alleged murder charges, rape claims , racketeering claims and everything else that comes in between and under these charges. It may be a wee tad late for lessons on decorum and professionalism. Communicating, their doing just fine, getting out the message they want..

I despair I really do.

You don't need to despair for me.......... But maybe you can spare a little 'despair' for the poor coffee lady that this topic is all about and think about humourous remarks derogatory to the poor lady who was totally abused by the cops. She had customers waiting in line, and that is good....... (money in the pocket), and these jerks who might have been Royal Thai Police come along and want to show 'Their authority' (if they indeed had any)..........

Did you notice the guy (I won't say policeman) in the blue shirt got upset at being videoed? Do you need me to explain that to you?

Pity the poor working class people..... They deserve it...... Much more than those standing in the 'food-stamp' lines back in the US......

To me, that video just emphasizes the need for Tazers here.

She put up a good fight - but, if she'd had a Tazer they wouldn't have got near her.

Totally agree, she put up a good fight and hopefully the guy in the blue shirt and buddies ran and hid after the video was known.....

But can you just imagine if the jerk cop had a tazer???????

I read TV they are buying new guns for the cops.......... Pity these poor working folks if the cops have Tazers

I think  that you will  come to learn that approval has been given for the RTP who  can afford  to  "upgrade" may  now  carry  the  class of weapon  mentioned. A  tazer   may be  a better  alternative  because   the  capacity  to  kill is much less even if  used  inappropriately.
