To run parallel with the government's thinking. Politics and religion are not all that far apart. More and more you can see politics studying religion to find out what binds the believer to the message. Trump is giving religion more powers so that ministers can sway the flock in a certain direction his. In a way the Religious Right is on a expanded membership drive.
