I have just spoken to a solicitor colleague of mine who has reviewed the UK Immigration Regulations and Legislation for me, and he is of the opinion that there is no law in existance that precludes the application of a dual British/Other National citizen for a UK visa.

However in these circumstances, whether the application is allowed to proceed, would be solely at the discretion of the ECO, depending on the merits of the case!g

Does he specialise in immigration law?

Whereabouts in what you call the 'the UK Immigration Regulations and Legislation' did he find this information? As said, I have searched through all the relevant guidance and the Immigration Rules themselves and have been unable to find it. A link would be really helpful.

As you are based in Thailand and call him a 'colleague' I have to ask if he is also based there or in the UK?

I hope you will find this information useful for future reference.

Information you have obtained firstly from someone on a UKVI telephone line whom you refer to as an immigration officer (did they say they were such; somehow I doubt that immigration officers answer phone enquiries! They are called Border Force officers nowadays, anyway!) and then the word of a solicitor who may or may not have expertise in this area and doesn't cite his source.

Against that we have, in his pinned topic, the information from Tony M, a knowledgeable and well respected member of this forum who definitely has professional expertise from his current activities and his past employment with what is now UK Border Force.

For someone who knows it all, it seems the OP still managed to cock up his visas applications!

Some people are beyond help!

To 7by7.
My colleague is a QC with chambers at Lincolns Inn, he doesn't specialise in Immigration Law, but I will try to get a link!
On balance I would say that with Tony M's exemplary knowledge and experience his would be more reliable source, I was merely reiterating my colleague's opinion.
You are quite correct in saying that I am somewhat confused by all I have learned from this thread, but I feel sure that others will benefit from the amount of knowledge that has been displayed by experienced members of this excellent forum.
I can say with gratitude, that every Posting, with the exception of one (Razzell) which I attribute to his limited knowledge and display of vocabulary prowess, has been most helpful and constructive!
Thank you

In which case, were I you, I wouldn't refer to him as a solicitor within earshot of him!

I await his source.

term Barrister for the post, and as he has only recently been called to the Bar, I feel quite sure he wouldn't' be offended, but I'm obliged to you for your concern, and be thankful for him being in London, out of earshot!

As I stated in my previous post to you, I will endeavour to furnish you with a link as you asked.
