Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn said that Pol Sergeant Pissanupong Ngamtura was nabbed in the parking lot of a condominium on Sukhumvit Soi 77. Police said that Pissanupong allegedly got the “ice” from a major agent in the northern region and distributed it to customers in Bangkok. They said they found drugs in his condo and he had to pay 10 million or so, then the Japanese went to another policedepartment who helped him and then the blackmailing coppers disappeared suddenly....never heard if they got arrested or what happened . The minimum he could get is 5 years if tried under the Psychotropic Substances Act and up to a maximum of 20 years, but if tried under the Narcotics Act the maximum is life but there is no minimum! That's the completely crazy thing about Thai drug law at the moment, for some substances there are two laws and it's up to them which they use, and they have completely different sentencing guidelines! Then you can assume they did not get arrested and nothing happened, there is never any speculating reports about police in the news, that would be an instant jail sentence for defamation, either they are arrested, tried and found guilty, or we hear nothing more of it.
