Traffic police sergeant arrested with 28kg of ‘ice’

A traffic police sergeant, who has been with the force for less than three months, has been arrested after he was found in possession of 28 kilograms of crystal meth or “ice”.

Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn said that Pol Sergeant Pissanupong Ngamtura was nabbed in the parking lot of a condominium on Sukhumvit Soi 77.

Police said that Pissanupong allegedly got the “ice” from a major agent in the northern region and distributed it to customers in Bangkok.

And what happened to those policemen who blackmailed a japanese nightclubowner in bkk some months ago? They said they found drugs in his condo and he had to pay 10 million or so, then the Japanese went to another policedepartment who helped him and then the blackmailing coppers disappeared suddenly....never heard if they got arrested or what happened .

Will he get 50 years in the gulag like the 2 foreigners who got caught with 200 esctasy tablets. Doubt it. 10 years and let out in 6 years on good behaviour.

The minimum he could get is 5 years if tried under the Psychotropic Substances Act and up to a maximum of 20 years, but if tried under the Narcotics Act the maximum is life but there is no minimum!  That's the completely crazy thing about Thai drug law at the moment, for some substances there are two laws and it's up to them which they use, and they have completely different sentencing guidelines!

Then you can assume they did not get arrested and nothing happened, there is never any speculating reports about police in the news, that would be an instant jail sentence for defamation, either they are arrested, tried and found guilty, or we hear nothing more of it.

So from Constable  to  Sergeant  in 3 months.....how does that work ?

Pay the required fees. Or get daddy, who is high up to order it.

28KG? I suspect some other coppers will be very unhappy, as that sort of quantity, probably had the hands of some senior police involved somewhere.

Sergeantt piss- and- a- pong is in deep doodoo, unless his bosses come to the rescue, not only of him, but their merchandise also.

Must cost a packet to become Police Sergeant from Constable Plod in three weeks. Money down the drain so far as he is concerned unless he can buy his way out of it which is most likely.

It doesn't say he joined the police in December, but the traffic police, presumably he had been a different type of policeman before this, perhaps drug suppression?

You have it all wrong. I'm sure this outstanding member of the finest police force in the world was taking the drugs back to the evidence locker after a big bust. Why are you all so cynical?

Yes, this is sarcasm.
