Deputy mayors appointed

PATTAYA:--A former Chonburi Police commander and an ex-provincial governor are among four men appointed as Pattaya’s new deputy mayors.

 

Former Pol. Maj. Gen. Bandit Khunajak, who headed Chonburi police from 2007-2009, and Sukwat Suksawat, a previous governor of Nakhon Nayok Province, were named by newly appointed Mayor Anan Charoenchasri Feb. 20. The others are Vichien Pongpanit, a former Chonburi Land Office bureaucrat, and Apichart Virapal, a major shareholder in rice broker Coastal Trading Co.

 

Bandit, upon taking office Feb. 17, was placed in charge of the city secretary’s office as well as peace and order, disaster prevention, traffic management and tourism development.

 

Vichien was put in charge of engineering, city planning, development and education.

 

Sukwat’s portfolio will include the sanitation, law, property, supply and inspector’s departments.
