I have come into possession of some old microfiche ( I think that's it's name ) I have no way of viewing it .

I heard there was a way of scanning it off a home scan/printer , but I have tried , no success.

Is there anyway of transferring this media onto a disc or computer.

try a good quality Slide image converter

They used to be good for converting your old kodachrome slides, over negatives for printing

These days it will usually be a USB device

Thanks tifino , I have had a look on the net for the slide image converter , but they seem big and expensive for a one time use.

I'd probably just use a magnifying glass and a light source to display the microfiche image on a wall or white sheet of paper and take an image with a digital camera.

But, as has been stated, some flatbed scanners have 'Slide Image Converters', with their own backlight, to capture 110/35mm film.

Yes but these are cheap and I have a fair few to scan , will it do the job ?

It plugs into a p.c. so that must be a bonus.

You may want to try a place that specializes in making copies, printouts, blueprints etc (as opposed to, say, a drug store that has a copy machine).  Maybe they can do it for you, or let you use their equipment etc.  If you intend to turn the data into text be sure to mention that.  I would think that in any sizable city there will be such a place
