The lawyer for actress Napapa “Patt” Tantrakul has asked for more time to submit financial documents to the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB), its deputy chief Pol Maj-General Chatri Paisalsilpa said on Monday.

Investigators had previously set Tuesday as the deadline for handing in the documents, but Napapa requested a postponement until early April.

Chatri also revealed that investigators had issued a summons for an event organiser who reportedly hired Napapa for Bt1 million to explain the employment contract. Napapa had submitted the contract to police when she went to testify along with her mother-in-law on March 17.

NSB investigators are checking the actress's assets and various sources of income to check if they are linked to the alleged money-laundering activities of her husband, motorbike racing star Akarakit Worarojcharoendet, also known as Benz Racing.

Akarakit has been charged with conspiracy with commit money laundering and has been released on bail, on condition he does not leave the country without court permission.

He is accused of buying a Lamborghini sports car with drug money from a network led by alleged Laotian drug kingpin Xaysana Keopimpa.

More time to submit documents? Haven't I heard this somewhere before?

And like, incriminating stuff gets deleted and denied?

Cops in US and EU don't give you a month to come up with cover stories and lies, so why do they keep letting people get away with it here?

More time to find someone to smuggle her to a neighboring country, perhaps. All until the media quiets down and the story gets swept under the rug, in which case she'l re-appear and everything will be all right.

Could also be just a ploy to create the scenario that she's important and she can set the pace. Been done a millon times before.

An event for 1 million baht? What was she doing to get paid that much?

I remember going to an event with my wife. A big fancy business do at a hotel and they had a couple of soap opera stars presenting the show. I met one of them by accident in the toilet. I was a bit of a cheeky beggar back then and after a hello and how are you and what do you do, I asked him how much he got for doing the show. He told me he got 50,000 baht for the day. So why does Benz Racings wife get 1 million baht? What type if show was she doing? Ping-pong?

Indicative of Thailand's 'dual track' track justice system that will never be reformed.  If the police were serious about these type of investigations, they would have subpoenaed all of her financial records already. Instead, it is just a social paddycake game.

Yes,I am sure that it takes time to borrow enough money to pay off the  people that can furnish the correct (back dated) documents or print a set of fake ones.

Yeah some where in the RTP if I recall.  It's the same in Oz, search warrants or subpoenas are obtained and then executed without any warning given to the suspect.  This is an absolute joke.:wai:
