BANGKOK: -- National Legislative Assembly (NLA) president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai stated that he was confident that the new constitution will be able to effectively prevent and combat corruption.

His comment came as the Royal Gazette yesterday released the royal command announcing the holding of the royal ceremony to officially bestow the new 2017 constitution to the nation on April 6.

I have to say I do not share his confidence at all. Corruption is endemic here and it will take a couple of generations, or more to address in a meaningful way.

This is just more sweet talk that is worth absolutely nothing.

Another delusional mouth piece seeking attention before, what will be the eventual failure.

Wouldnt it be nice, or a shock, for some Thai official to make an anouncement of what they have achieved, rather than what they believe will occur in the future?

Is there a Thai politician or bureaucrat that avoids posing, pontificating and making wild predictions ?   Such recklessness talk is worrisome.  Perhaps one should achieve something prior to talking about the expected achievement.
