PATTAYA: -- A video that did the rounds of social media came from the police and showed what they have to put up with on a daily basis.

This footage showed two women in the Pattaya area stopped at a police alcohol checkpoint. They are in a fancy convertible automobile, reported TNews.

The women moan and complain and appear drunk while the police speak calmly and explain why they are breath testing the driver.

One in the car screams in Thai: "What a bloody awful country this is".

But the officers do their job calmly despite the plaintive cries.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was that the driver was well under the limit - only 39 registered on the "Alco Sensor".

Officer Siraphudech Chamnankit said that the situation was filmed and he took a picture of the sensor for evidential purposes.

He said that the ladies were let go after that.

"We have to put up with all sorts of manners in our job," he said. "It is for the public's own good that we are doing this".

Wonderful title... "Drink Driving"

So drinks are driving cars? Look! There goes a Martini!!!

Maybe "drunk driving" would be more appropriate. Does webfact have an edit function?

People are starting to wake up to the fact that Thailand is fast becoming a police state. Oh well, you sleep with the devil, you don't change the devil. It's all too late now.

Breath testing is not a measure of a police state. I suppose you don't agree with seat belts or helmets either on the same logic.  Drunk hiso women and stupid Farang TVF posters.  Should be a new law against both of them.

This was no where near as exciting as the headline suggests !

When I read "moaning women" I was expecting a different kind of story. One in which there would be copious amounts of "video blurring" involved. :w00t:

What people don't agree with is making everybody obey laws that are made to keep very stupid people safe and to hell withe rest of us!

Smart people don't need laws to be safe!

Stupid people do.

The laws on selection of the fittest soon sort out who is smart and who is stupid. :wai:
