For further assistance, turn on your vehicle’s lane departure warning system.

Eh?? Is that to mean indicate before maneuver?

How to avoid the carnage? Just don't drive anywhere during the Songkran or any public holidays! Stay at home, turn on the air conditioner, remove a cold one from the refrigerator once in a while and enjoy life.... Cheers.

That's the best advice.

This actually emphasises a lack of understanding of road safety..."not driving" - that's only part of the story - road safety is concerned with ROAD USERS and the environment which surrounds roads.

To be "safe" you don't just have to "not drive" you have to remove yourself from the roads, pavements roadsides etc completely - so many times people judge road safety from a purely ego-centric point of view - e.g. themselves in a sedan....the reality is that anything on or near a road is at risk from pedestrians to rot ken vendors, workmen even pelpe sitting in a living room.......... until Thailand takes a holistic approach they are all still at risk.

That's what I have promulgated, stay away from any road altogether, my living room should be a fairly safe place, no traffic there, though it may look a bit different in the bedroom

PM chan o cha forgot the Thai Sticky Rice, yes it's the sticky rice that makes you sleepy, and also those sweet potato and tapioca stuffs. After you digest them they all produce trytophan which makes you feel real sleepy.

They say the Thais are lazy no it's not true, it's the foods they eat, after lunch they don't feel like doing anything because those foods make them sleepy.

You should try eating tuber roots like yam or cassava and see how these foods affect your body.

What about driving on the wrong side of the street around blind curves?

But isn't that a Thai tradition, one that must be preserved? Thais can see round corners you know.
