I will be ordering a new pair of glasses from an online source (thanks for the reference guys), but I need my eyes checked first. Can I have a recommendation as to where I can receive a good eye checkup, be handed the results, on a walk in basis, without paying more than I should? Thanks.

Cost was B1300 six months ago.  You will be seen by an ophthalmologist, not a technician and get a full eye exam, not just vision.  Bring your own sunglasses if you don't fancy the hideous ones they give you.

Make sure the Dr. includes "PD" and frame width on the script...that will make online selection easier.
