PHUKET:-- A truck carrying 25 prefabricated concrete sheets to a worksite in Chalong spilled seven of the prefab slabs onto the road in front of a school on the busy Chao Fa West Rd in Chalong today (May 26).

No persons were harmed in the accident, which occurred in front of the “Banchalong School”, confirmed police.

Workers took about three hours to clear the road by using a crane before traffic flow returned to normal, said Capt Woradet Chuguea of the Chalong Police.

“Officers from the Chalong Police and the Wichit Police joined efforts to direct traffic around the accident,” he said.

The truck driver, 46-year-old Somboon Puangnoon, told police he was delivering the concrete slabs, which weighed about 25 tons, from a company in Thalang to a site in Soi Yod Sanae 2.

Well if 7's that high were did the rest go

Next time try using chains instead of straps

Well no one injured is good, but whatever the system for transporting these things needs to be improved. It was just lucky no one was injured.

I passed this and the tailback yesterday going northbound. Amazing that no one was injured but will anyone be charged with negligence in overloading the truck?
