BANGKOK, 1 JUne 2017 (NNT) – The Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association has launched a spiritual tourism campaign, in which more tourists will be invited to visit eight holy shrines within the Ratchaprasong business district.

In cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA) has organized a press conference to unveil the “8 Shrines and Spiritual Attractions” campaign, which offers a tourist walking route connecting eight holy shrines around the Ratchaprasong area.

RSTA President Chai Srivikorn reported that the number of tourists visiting Ratchaprasong has risen by 30 percent from last year, with a large portion of them coming from China. He also expected business growth in the area to reach 10 percent this year.

In the meantime, Ratchaprasong business operators are joining hands to renovate the 500-meter Ratchaprasong Walk, which links 18 office buildings and shopping malls and over 3,000 restaurants in the area, in the hope of stimulating tourist spending. In order to ensure public safety and boost tourist confidence, additional CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the site, increasing the total number of cameras to 100.

According to the RSTA, the “8 Shrines and Spiritual Attractions” campaign is targeted to attract 20-30 percent more spiritual travelers from around the world, raising the number of foreign tourists at Ratchaprasong to over 600,000 per day.

That'll drag 'em in, in droves and prove the lady minister of Immigration and sport right.  All those new quality tourists that we are told today are flooding into Pattaya from Russia & China wil be lining up.   As long as they sell vodka and the Chinese guides are getting a kickback.
