What is it with Thai administrators and office time?

I can design lesson plans in a fraction of the time it takes other Thai teachers. My lessons are well planned, structured and relevant. However if I don't sit at my desk until 5 pm then  I am regarded as a bad teacher. Why ?

Students like me, they learn in my class, I am always on time, never miss lessons, no sicks days and always help others in the department if they need it.

However, if I don't sit at my desk until 5 pm, then I am a bad teacher.

Sit at my desk, look nice, lots of wai's, shit teacher, terrible lesson plans and lessons and don't leave until 5 pm and I am the best teacher in the world.

Christ, it's so frustrating. :post-4641-1156693976:

It's the way things are here.   I assisted with numerous  schools under the same owner and it was the same way at all of them.   We had numerous teachers who started and most had come from schools with similar rules.   A few came from smaller schools who had a bit more freedom, but most schools over time tighten the rules.
