Transfer Retirement visa.

Featured Replies

My Retirement visa expires when my passport does next year. Will immigration transfer my extension to my new passport ? If so what is the procedure? Thankyou for any advice.

Yes, depending on the country most will issue a new passport and return the cancelled, you can even re-enter Thailand using a combination of both passports, Thai immigration will accept visa/extension/re-entry permit in old passport. Most counties will put a note in the old passport saying "this passport has been replaced by passport 12345 etc, all visa's remain valid", or something similar.

A visit to immigration (where you got the extension) with both passports and they will transfer the stamps.

They will transfer the stamps from the ond to new passport. Visas are not transferred. They will do a annotation about the visa you used to allow the entry you have been extending.

You will need a letter from you embassy requesting the stamp transfer. Copies of the photo page of your new passport and copies of your old passport photo page and every page that has a visa or stamp for Thailand on it.

take your old passport and your new one along with the form that you will recieve with your new passport giving immigration the right to transfer all your visa status stamps into your new passport.

you will need photo copies of all whats in your old passport.

Be aware that any transferred extension will still be for the expiration date now in your expiring passport.
