NACC asked to handle further probe in irregularities and corruption in monastic affairs

BANGKOK: -- The Counter Corruption Division (CCD) police will forward all its finding into irregularities involving monastic affairs to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for further action after it has substantial evidence to pursue legal action.

 

According to the CCD’s probe, it has found 12 temples in several provinces which state subsidies granted to them for renovation and repairs had been siphoned off illegally.

 

Initial finding showed 60 million baht had been misappropriated by a gang led by the former director of the Office of the National Buddhism (ONAB) with the cooperation of the current deputy director of the office.
