French expat dead by knife in chest, Phuket police deem suicide

PHUKET: -- Police believe a French expat found dead in his home in Kamala this morning died by his own hand, stabbing himself in the chest with a knife.

 

Capt Prasert Thongprom of the Kamala Police was notified at 10:45am.

 

Officers and rescue workers arrived to find the body of the man, identified as Henri Paul Jean Melot, 81, from Morlaix, slumped in a chair beside his computer with a knife in his left chest.

Surely if a person was going to end their own life with a knife it would be wrists or neck, not chest.

The only problem with air embolism, is you run the risk of becoming a complete vegetable, due to a massive stroke. There are far less painless ways of ending it, without leaving a nasty mess for others to clean up.

No that wouldn't work for me. If I was depressed and drank a bottle of rum I would get out of the bath and end up scoring a bag of coke and hitting the go go bars and night clubs for big party time

KCl is better than air embolus. The amount of air into the vein sometimes needs to be quite large. I have seen drips run out and quite a lot of air go in. Insulin may be better than anything. Don't take 30 paracetamol, you will be fine for two days then take about 7 days to die from liver failure. 30 Valium will not often kill you either.

 

This chest-stab thing is total pie-in-sky. Nobody does it in the chest. The ribs/sternum and intercostal muscles are tough as old boots. Cut your throat or wrists (long-ways for the wrist or you just get cat scratches!). AND...he was 81? This is all b*******. Someone else did it, unless he fell on his sword...

I am absolutely impressed by the ROYAL THAI POLICE for their exceptional skill in knowing how the victim was killed even at the scene. Should probably considered the most efficient police in the world.
