BANGKOK — Metal scaffolding came raining down on a busy intersection Sunday night from an elevated rail station being built in the capital’s Bangkok Noi district.

Charan Sanitwong Road was closed several hours after metal scaffolding dropped from the future site of MRT Bang Khun Non, a future station on the western Blue Line extension. The debris fell at about 8pm and landed in three pieces in the middle of the intersection. No injuries were reported.

Who is (ir)responsible for contracting these morons? Yet no doubt there is the usual notice stuck somewhere, ticking off the days of no accidents. What a farce those pieces of paper are.

I have you know...they have ISO xxxx certification...??

ISO well that dont mean much, i have a drivers license, but cannot drive.

I'm not sure why this is news, after all a spokesman for the contractor said last week that it was normal for tools and debris to fall from construction sites.

Its ISO 18001. Worthless unless enforced by constant Audits on OHS policies and procedures and Directors enforce such procedures.

"Deputy MRTA governor Pakapong Sirikantaramas blamed recent accidents on human error."

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Where to start ?

see this is what happens when you used Section 44 to speed up construction. :1zgarz5:

Afaik section 44 was only used to speed up the missing link between bang sue and tao poon. And it didn't help at all!

Were the other lines also forced to speed up ?

IDK I am just blaming everything on section 44, even my mother in law...

A typical Thai construction.

Yeah, not like those solid, fireproof apartment buildings they construct in the UK.
