BANGKOK: -- Authorities are verifying whether fugitive red-shirt leader Wuttipong “Ko Tee” Kottham-makhun has fled from Laos to Cambodia.

General Thaweep Netniyom, National Security Council (NSC) secretary-general, said on Wednesday that they were investigating to locate the hardcore red-shirt leader.

“If there is strong evidence that he is there [Cambodia] or broadcasting his programme [Internet-radio broadcasts] from there we will ask the Cambodian authorities for cooperation [to arrest him],” Thaweep said.

Last week, authorities in Laos blocked Wuttipong’s broadcasts with cooperation from Thai authorities.

Wuttipong has reportedly used YouTube and Facebook channels to communicate with red-shirt supporters and urge them to carry out violent actions in Thailand.

In March, police and troops unearthed a cache of weapons and ammunition during a raid on a house Wuttipong previously occupied in Pathum Thani.
