Mystery surrounds the death of a 68 year old French man after he was found dead in his rented home in Sri Racha by a car rental man.

Michel Bachellerique had rented a car in Pattaya but when he failed to return it by Monday the company checked the GPS in the vehicle and saw it had not moved for two days.

Sunthorn Tolong, 56, followed the tracking signal to a two story house yesterday where the front gate had been left open. Inside he saw blood downstairs and immediately called security who contacted the Nong Kham police.

Police found a lot of blood all over the floor downstairs. In an upstairs bedroom by the side of the bed they found the dead man who was naked. There was also a lot of blood in the bedroom.

He had been dead for about four days. His next door neighbor Janthakarn Chamjaidee, 32, said she had not seen him for four days.

He had lived alone in the rented town house, located in the Bung area of Sri Racha,  for about two years and she would see him most mornings walking to a local convenience store.

She said he kept himself to himself and she had not seen anyone else in the last few days going into the house.

Police called in forensics officers to make a full examination of the scene and the body has been sent for autopsy.

RIP Michel
Wonder if the rental company can trace the cars movements since the poor fella died ? or does
" and saw it had not moved for two days "
mean they could only check the last two days for movement ??

Either way the police have some investigating ( or guessing) to do !

Always switch on the CCTV in your homes when bringing in "friendly guests", and make sure the footage is secured online for later recovery if necessary!

And inform any trustworthy person where the footage is, that can hopefully would never be needed!

Is this to secure your future in the case you have none?

At least we can expect a thorough and in depth investigation to get to the bottom of this.

A couple of times I have been at/near the scene of violent crime/incident. Both times the cops made a complete mess of things, touched and moved everything, and at the very end called for the forensic team - why bother?

stickboy bangkok has crime scene photos.

looks like a horror film.

blood all over the house, floors, walls, livingroom, bathroom.

Not much of a mystery then, as someone else was involved, unless it was a bizarre form of suicide (which no doubt the RTP will confirm). Sad end for anyone to suffer. A dreadful death.

How long is going to Take the TV experts to reach a conclusion this time

I think if had hanged himself from a high beam, hands tied behind his back and no kickable furniture present, clearly a suicide. Here, the RTP will say the same, or an accident. I mean to say, his nosy neighbour witness didn't see anyone go into or out of his house.

Or he could have upset someone by just being there...

After I saw the photos I believe him died about a stomach ulcer burst!!! It started downstairs, him walked up in the toilette vomiting a lot in the toilette. Maybe him want go in the bad and the next blood vomiting start. Than him fall powerless about massive blood lost.

You can die in minutes about a stomach ulcer burst.

Not everything must be a murder case!!!

No. The car company didn't check every day. It only checked when the car became overdue for return. At no time does the story quote the car renter on when the car HAD been driven, but it had NOT been driven during the two days it should have been returned.

Er Why?  Most people probably don't have CCTV in their homes.

Where does it say the car was moving during the 2 days immediately after his estimated death?

The neighbor hadn't seen him for 4 days.

GPS trackers have limited storage. The car could easily have not been moving as long as the guy was obviously not moving but the GPS only stores the last 48-hours of positioning data.

Who said he was murdered?

This only happens on Koh Tao.
