BANGKOK: -- The traditional and respectful world of Muay Thai has been rocked after one of its champions has condemned a fight being organized at Lumpini Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

Nuengpichit Sityodtong went on his personal Facebook page to criticize promoters of a single four minute round bout to settle a dispute between two boxers called "Sia Poh" and "Kong Meuang Meen" this

weekend.

The bout is being promoted more like a WWW wrestling event than a Thai Boxing event. Tnews referred to the fight as being like something held at a temple fair.

Nuengpichit said in English: "Someone is destroying Lumpini Stadium". In Thai he asked those responsible to stop the fight saying that it did not respect the traditions and history of Thai boxing and flouts the rules and regulations.

The former champ said it was not respectful to professional Thai boxers who are dedicated and train seriously for fights.

I just saw this fight live on youtube. Sia Po all big talk n towering over his opponent just wants to play hugging cuddly games round the ring. The smaller guy got a good few leg kicks in and after a few minutes, Sia Po pussied out cos he was out of gas. Technical KO win to the little Mafia guy.
