June 27, 20178 yr Prachin Buri bar owner faces trafficking charge By Supachai Phetchthewee The Nation PRACHIN BURI: -- The owner and cashier of a Prachin Buri karaoke bar have been charged with human trafficking after allegedly supplying girls under 18 for prostitution. Officers of the Anti-Human Trafficking Division made the arrests on Monday night at the Thanapat karaoke bar in Kabin Buri district’s Tambon Nong Kee, the division’s chief, Pol Maj-General Kornchai Klayklueng, announced on Tuesday. Thitirat Lin, 36, and Suthat Chaisamrit, 29, were apprehended in a sting operation. Undercover police allegedly arranged with the bar staff to pay the girls Bt2,000 each for sex at a hotel. Police then retrieved the girls from the hotel room and turned them over to a home caring for children and families. Kornchai said another team then went to the bar to trace the banknotes used to pay the girls and arrested Thitirat, the bar owner, and Suthat, the cashier. June 28, 20178 yr On this occasion the police used other police to set up the sting which in other countries is called entrapment. Fair enough I suppose if it keeps underage girls out of the prostitution scene. Can't hep but wonder on a normal working day who the customers might be. Surely not military officers or off-duty RTPs.
