Install wifi or router for the first time

Featured Replies

We are near to complete our home in Korat: its located outside the city and need to put or wifi or a router in it.

What is the best solution? And the price?

Ask around neighbours. See what they have is there fibre to your area? Ask diffrent providers about cost and packages. Then pick your prefered provider they will do the rest.

If you have good stable 4g at the house look at the pocket wifi option. You can connect up to 10 devices to it, it is mobile so you can take it where ever and it only cost B1490 for the AIS one. It is prepaid so no contracts and cancellation periods. It however dont cover a large area. You can recharge its battery from a power bank, 220v wall plug or usb on a computer or lap top. It is faster than our True fiber optic.

I live in a small village south of Korat, not far from Khonburi  and Soeng Sang. For three years we have had 3BB broadband and never had any major problems. In that time our speed has also been upgraded at no extra cost. I have no complaints at all.

Select an ISP first, they will supply the router.

So ask around who is best in the area between 3BB, True AIS etc.

Opticl fiber would be best and stay away from telephone line ADSL.

It is rather dated and old hat these days and often subject to weather conditions.

What is your speed?

But mostly my comments stems from my old telephone line ADSL, which was truly awful!

We use 3BB at our vacation home in Ban Hua Thomnop not too far from Korat. Works good most of the time. Very inexpensive.

Well ADSL (on TOT phoneline) used to be my only choice 10km out of Pattaya, quality and support were very poor. Then in the space of a few year we had frantic cable laying activity and soon plenty of choice.
