Am ill, and one month late -- must I report to Chaeng Wattana to pay the fine in person, or can I send a rep with passport, fine, and form?

Thanks for advice on this, Retiree

You must do it in person if you are late.

Being later because you are ill will not change the normal fine of 2000 baht.

Yes sorry you must go in person.

Happened to me 2 days ago, I was 5 weeks late (getting old and forgot)

No problem as Ubonjoe says 2000 Bt sorts the problem.

Hang a calendar inside the toilet door with your visa related dates on it.

if I am 3 months late, is the penalty the same: 2000baht?

The longer you leave it the worse it will get.
