Borders trade shows solid gains this year

Thailand’s border trade with Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia rose 5.2 per cent to Bt445.54 billion in the first five months of this year from the same period last year. Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said yesterday. 

 

She said trade with Vietnam and Singapore reached a total of Bt83.96 billion for the five months, up 13.4 per cent from a year earlier.

 

She said Thailand’s border trade with the so-called CLMVcountries – Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam – along with trade with Malaysia and Singapore reached a combined Bt529.5 billion. This was 6.4 per cent higher than for the first five months of last year.
