Get on one of the flight reservation websites (Orbitz, Expedia, MyTrip, etc) and enter your points of origin and destination along with the dates.

You may find there aren't many choices from BKK to a thriving metropolis like Raleigh Durham.  And the best option often shows itself when one is at $2,500 and the rest are at $6,500.  Happens more often than I would have expected, then next week the flight's not there...or someone else is at $2,500.

I have Flown with American and United before. I had really bad experiences with them, but I have never gone with ANA. I am going back home after 12 years here, so one way ticket. I have found first for just under 3000.00USD, but with Eva Air, which I have used many times. Service is good, but not sure what is the best Airport to fly into when going to NC?

Just pointing (yes I read that the member doesn't like AA), not looking at prices at all (makes me dizzy ):

American Airlines has a nonstop connection from London (LHR) to RDU.

Delta has a nonstop connection from Paris (CDG) to RDU.

Both can easily be connected with the Thai Airways nonstop to LHR or CDG.

A one stop connection and flight times eastbound vs. westbound do not differ that much.

On the way back one could again go eastbound over the Pacific via Japan/Korea.

(such a pity that Thai Airways had given up the Los Angeles - Bangkok)

Nice round the world.

RDU is REALLY a long trip.

Eva flies to Bangkok - Houston via Taipei daily now. My buddies have switched to them after giving up on United years ago and say Eva beats Emirates service to/from Houston as well.

Late arrival at Bush Intercontinental just before midnight would mean an overnight and the best choices onwards to RDU would be the United flights that use 737's to get as close to First as possible. Some of their flights on that sector are United Express run by Mesa Airlines that  use smaller Embraer RJ-175. When United was Continental, they had BusinessFirst rather than a separate First class on their domestic services. Not sure if it's still the same.

If you take Eva to Chicago, the onward flight to RDU is 45 minutes shorter than from Houston but you would still need an overnight. Choice of United (same mix of 737 and/or Embraer) or American who still use MD-80's!!!.

I never fly first class but you would book one of the top airlines with a reputation for for an amazing first class experience like Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates etc to NYC or Washington. The airline will incorporate the short connecting flight to RDU with United or whoever but this won't be first class.

Or you book BA straight into RDU via LHR however you will pay the first class price but really only receive a business class experience ( that's according to frequent flyer forums where the BA recent downgrade in service standards are discussed).

As I see others seem to share the westbound route as an idea.

And from the previous post:

First class with Emirates to New York.

They have a flight departing 21:25h (9:25 PM) arriving in JFK at 8:50h (AM). Both legs on A380.

I have seen videos about Emirates first class.

Stunning!

JFK to RDU: 11:05h (AM), Delta.

Who cares for 1st on a less than 2 hour flight?

I live in the Carolinas.

Where in NC will you end up?       I've flown in/out of CLT a few times.    I flew to BKK a few years ago via CLT by taking Delta to JFK, and Norwegian to BKK.

I'd shop for the best price on a first/business class ticket to a big hub city,   JFK,  EWR, ATL, ORD, etc, and then look for a discounted first class ticket to RDU on a separate domestic carrier.    GSO  (Greensboro) also has flights to hub cities.

I flew Hainan out of ORD to BKK in Feb, business class, roundtrip, $2000.   OK experience, overall, and even though I was in the area for work, could have bought a discounted first class ticket to get to ORD and still saved money.

Log onto google flights and search for the best deals. Look for the shortest layovers and the best airline available for that route. Im going to do a quick check on momodo and see whats around

Sent from my SM-G920V using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

I just thought I would cgheck back and see if you found anything when you checked Momodo? If so, I would appreciate any tips you might be able to give me. Thanks again for your post.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for your reply. I am flying to Louisburg, NC. I guess the closest airport to my destination is Raleigh Durham. So if you have any tips on how I might find a cheap First class ticket. I couldn't thank you enough.

OP you first asked for the best first class which also had the best routing which to me indicated somebody else was picking up the bill or cost wasn't important. Your last reply is asking for a cheap first class ticket. That is probably easier. Go on skyscanner or similar and shop for a ticket to NYC, ORD or WAS or even LAX,SFO. Then look for a separate flight to RDU on Southwest, JetBlue, UA, DL etc but make sure you have plenty of spare hours for a bit of delay so you won't miss the flight. Bags won't be checked through. This version may cost a lot less than the original request of best service and best route.

Actually, I am paying for it. If I can save money and get a good seat, would be great. So I really appreciate your input. I never knew you could get thiese seats at such a great discount.

Price is an issue, but have heard so many stories about friends or friends of friends getting these great deals. If you think of anything else that might help me, by all means please post to me. I have checked many sites already for the last couple of weeks, but have yet to find any cheap 1st Class seats. I am guessing that I am looking in the wrong place

Thank you very much for your help!

I have searched Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, One Travel, Ladybug and many more sites for cheap one way back to USA first class, but I keep getting fares for one way over $4000 just to JFK or ATL. I am guessing I am doing something wrong, because I have not seen one decent fare yet.

I anyone can point me in the right direction or possibly send me a link or some direction on how I might find some of these special fares. I could not thank you enough. I am in Chronic pain and terminally ill. I would like my last flight home to be comfortable, but can't afford those high prices.

Old story, Thai wife robs Husband of everything and now that I am sick, she has dumped cold after over 10 years of Marriage. I need to get out of my house ( Now her house ) as soon as possible. She has threatened me, which is amazing. She can't even wait until I die. Anyway, nobodies problem, but my own.

Not looking for Pity, but if anyone can help me out, that would be great!

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your situation. One ways can be poor value. Bizarrely a return may cost less than a one way because special promotions will be offered for returns but not for one ways. If it's cheaper this is what you would book and you would only use the outbound flight and forget about the flight back to Thailand. Dont even tell the airline you are not using it, just forget about it.

It's possible you may get a package holiday cheaper than a one way or a return. This may be a first/business class return with a car hire for a one week duration? Again if it's cheaper this way, you only use the flight to the USA and forget the rest. Don't mention this to the airline!

What dates are you looking at?

A decent travel agent can help you out and even save you money and time. I don't know who are the good agents in Pattaya but people have asked in the past and the  Search box should bring the threads up.

When you arrive into the USA it might be worth booking a one night stay at an airport hotel before taking the domestic flight the following day. This allows you to delayed into the USA with no worries about missing the connection. Plus if you are not in the best of health you might be worn out?

I am looking for something about 4 weeks out from now. Some where around August 20. I would like to leave on a Sunday if Possible, . This is kind of important because my wife goes out with her new friend every Sunday and will give me the opportunity to leave without having a major Scene, which will happen if I leave when she is here.

Ok I will have look. I would be wary of any random people who may contact you via private message on this forum offering help. You either need to pay the airline direct or a through a recommend travel agent. Also the discounted first/business class airfares quite often can be fix dated. Once booked you can't change the date or get a refund. Same if it's a "fly drive vacation" deal.

If you go to the qatarairways.com website put in BKK Atlanta 21 August  return 13 Sep, there is departure from BKK at 02:05 in the morning meaning you are checking in Sunday evening the 20th and heading to the business class lounge. You arrive at ATL at 17:00 the same day 21 Aug .  52685 baht for this business class return.  Delta have a direct flight to RDU at 21:12 and 22:29 for $246-317 for comfort / first class.

JFK is an option also for 61030 bahtand lots of direct Delta options to RDU for $146 upwards in comfort or first. More options on Monday than the Sunday though.   Depending on the departure time you may arrive JFK the same day or the following day.

If you just need the room and better comfort,   The cheapest Norwegian one way 'premium' seat is around $1500, BKK to JFK on August 26.   It's a 787 business class type seat with less frills.    You have to  check because they sometimes have tight connections in Oslo or Stockholm.     Norwegian also arrives 8-9 pm in JFK,  usually too late to make connection to a domestic flight that night.     There are airport hotels near JFK that aren't too expensive, but probably a dump, and I've never tried them.      A flight or train south the next day is possible.     I was cheap, and camped out in the airport for 9 hours until my flight in the morning.  (Not recommended for that duration in JFK)

I'm seeing one way, first class tickets from JFK to RDU for $183, and up.      You might be able to get to RDU this way,  Norwegian to JFK,  Hotel and possible taxi in JFK,  and domestic first class home the next day, for 1800 or less.   Maybe cheaper if you can tolerate Amtrak home after a night in a hotel.   Amtrak probably runs pretty full.

I'm seeing one way business class tickets on Kayak via Qatar airlines for $2500+ to ATL from BKK, for August 6.

First from ATL to RDU will be $220 or so and up.

The Qatar Airways is a promo fare and I am not sure when the promotion ends? You might want to check that? Their business class is very good, flatbed , great lounges . This would be a good option. You need plenty of time for the connection to RDU so you don't miss it or have to run through the terminal stressing. Airport hotel and the next day removes those issues. Your first name and surname must match your passport. Double check the dates before you confirm it all.

I will check on this with Qatar. I can't thank you guys enough. I will see my Doctor in a couple of days. Then I will finalize everything. I cannot thank you and PeteSC enough. I am going to try to book it now, but not sure how long they will hold the reservation for me? Anyway, I will let you all know how things work out.
