BANGKOK, 13 July 2017 (NNT) - The Prime Minister expressed his admiration for a Thai amateur golfer who became the youngest winner of the Ladies European Tour.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha praised 14-year-old Atthaya Thitikul, the youngest winner of the Ladies European Tour. The Ladies European Thailand Championship was held in Pattaya of Chonburi province.

The premier said that her success proves that ability does not depend on age but learning and self improvement. He claimed that she was inspired by Thai professional golfer Ariya Jutanugarn and has herself become an inspiration for many Thai children.

Gen Prayut thanked her for bringing fame to Thailand, as the BBC and CNN have reported on her success. He also gave her moral support in developing her skills to become a professional golfer.
