Bangkok, Andaman coast to face heavy rains today until next Wednesday

 

People in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces are told to brace for heavy rains today until next Wednesday as strengthened monsoon winds are flowing pass the upper region and the Andaman Sea.

 

In the announcement issued by the Meteorological Department before noon Saturday (July 15), it said the monsoon trough across the upper parts of North and Northeast and the string southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea will bring about heavy rains in most parts of the country.

 

It then warned people of possible flashfloods in areas hit by heavy rains.

 

For the east and west coasts, it said 2-3 metres high waves are expected in both the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand.

 

All ships are advised to take precautions while small boats are asked not to sail into high sea for safety.
