webfact
PM says he reads every response to his 4 questions BANGKOK, 17th July 2017 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has confirmed that he personally reads every comment and response to the 4 question he raised about the next general election. Gen Prayut said he had already received the first batch of public responses to his questions in regard to the election and the country’s future, insisting that he took his time reading all comments. The PM says, people have voiced both agreement and disagreement with the topic of each question while some offered constructive suggestions to the country’s problems. The four questions are 1) will the next election result in Thailand having a government with good governance? 2) if not, what should the country do? 3) elections are part of democracy but are elections without regard for the country’s future right or wrong? and 4) should bad politicians be given a chance to run for office, and if conflict returns, who will solve it and by what means? People who wish to answer the four questions can do so at Damrongtham centers, district offices, One Stop Service centers, and the Prime Minister's Office. To make a response, people must identify themselves with a picture ID containing a 13-digit identification number. -- nnt 2017-07-

Samui Bodoh
One might want to have a look at the "One Hundred Flowers Campaign" in China, 1956 (Wikipedia has a good blurb).. Mao encouraged people to criticize the government, then later changed his mind and persecuted the people who participated. La plus ca change... yellowboat
The questions show no interest in a participatory government. It is an excuse for allowing a higher, non elected government to usurp control for an elected one. Answering these questions is tantamount to allowing further coups and relinquishing freedom. Or people posing as someone else? 1) If you're dumb enough to waste your time expressing your idea 10 times (an idea which has no real value and won't be considered if Big P disagrees) then that's up to you. 2) You can easily present you ID as you enter the "feedback zone" to prove you are you and then leave an anonymous message. They should be allowed to express their idea as many times as they want to. That's called freedom of expression. If it was anonymous as all voting should be, how could they pose as someone else ??????

brucec64
In mid june the BP reported that 92000 people had answered the questions. Since prayut has been very productive on the poetry front since that time, either he has not read all, or possibly the numbers have been slightly overstated?Sent from my SM-J710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
