ITV has just aired a warning for travelers returning to the city to depart bus before it arrives at the bus station. Not sure if just general good security practice in the current situation or if specific information involved.

This would spell a lot of inconvenience to the passengers and to the bus driver and his assistants.

Such a warning could instill fear in many.

Exactly what the bombers want in the first place.

I'd be more concerned about my safety, than what somebody thinks it makes somebody else think.

Same for the train station. There is a junction north of Hualalumpong, I think it's Bang Sue, where you can get on and off both the northbound and southbound trains. Motosai or taximeter can take you where you're going then.

Yes Its Bang Sue Junction. There is an entrance to the subway there and city buses, also.

Sounds like a good idea...but my guess is the driver wont stop if asked....I'm picturing a glazed look as he continues on in to the station. :o

No offence intended...but the bus drivers may not be ITV viewers.

This was aired on ITV but not an announcer but a government official. Even in normal times bus will let you out early if at a stop light or you ask. There is going to be a huge influx of people arriving in the next 36 hours and the advise is sound (even if it did not help to protect you from being a bomb target) - the bus station will be a mess and much better to get off at public transport points before the station.

For that matter, any public transport point that attracts a lot of traffic is a danger point. Any skytrain or metro station. This is one of the biggest holiday seasons of the year; everybody has to go home and get back to work or school.

Does anyone have any info on Hualampong? The trains are still running. Is it chaos down there though? impossible to get a ticket?

A friends trying to get down south but he doesn't know whether to get the ticket now or wait a few days.

The crush will be arrivals in the next 36 hours but this is high tourist season so there will be a lot of activity both ways in any case. It is always advisable to obtain tickets as early as possible for long distance train travel. There are travel agents who will obtain for commission and you can buy at any railway station - does not have to be Hualumpong.

Yeh,his best bet is definatly from a travel agent and I'll tell him to get his ticket booked asap.

My wife and I returned to MoChit on the Govnt bus from Khlonglan yesterday and we were all forced off the bus before arriving at MoChit. This was only because the bus ran out of fuel less than 1 km from MoChit. What was even more funnier the bus actually came to rest in the middle of a very busy intersection under the main hwy and many people had to get off and push the bus to the side of the road.
