That would have been costly had it gone off. Hope it turns out to be a dud.

We might now have this kind of news several times for a while....and hopefully, they will be false alert...

Let's hope it was a false alarm and that security will be tight around every shopping centre with mandatory bag controls at the entrance. Yes, I know it stinks, but unless they catch those criminals it is necessary

Shoppers frightened by false bomb scare at Central Lardprao

A false bomb scare has created turmoil at the popular shopping mall - Cenral Lardprao Tuesday morning.

Shoppers detected that the lid of a coin box of a public telephone booth in front of the mall had been left open so they alerted police at about 11:30 am.

Police rushed to the scene and evacuated shoppers.

Bomb disposal offices checked the booth and the area for about half an hour but detected no bomb.

After the checking, shoppers were allowed to return inside the shopping mall.

I went shopping in Carrefour on Lad Prao Road yesterday and there were several checkpoints where security staff checked bags

Was a regular thing in the south last year but haven't been back there this year.

Yes, many places are checking bags. I went shopping and they made me leave my bag outside. I hope she doesn't wander off before I finish!

There have been previous false bomb reports from Ubon so probably just rumor based on them.

I really hope that it was a false bomb alarm. Other friends from Isaan speak also now of a bomb which should have been found, but again, even they are sure, it might be very much false rumours. Exactly that kind of fear those government terrorists want to acchieve

Went Shopping today...

MBK...bag controls are symbolic at least...

Siam Centre...sporadic controls

Paragon...VERY GOOD control by friendly and caring security

Lets hope, even it is annoying that security is tightened the next days until they catch those criminals

I was out yesterday and there was nothing anywhere. No checks on the BTS (glaring problem to me), no extra security on the platform or on board, nothing at Major on Sukhumvhit...they weren't even mirroring under cars that parked....yikes!

I wonder if anything can be found in a "bag search"...sometimes the security guards just take a brief look into the bags and let u in... :o

Drove to the car park at Central Chidlom. Absolutely no security check which is strange because periodically they do have security checks.
