LOEI: -- The 62-year-old owner of a Loei rubber plantation was found dead on Tuesday night with his throat slit.

Police said Thanet Yabuha suffered other wounds to his face and arms. His body was discovered at 8pm near the hut where he routinely slept alone on the plantation in Dansai district.

The site is in the village of Ban Nam Yen in Tambon Kok Sathon.

There were pools of blood nearby. Police believe he was attacked and tried to flee before his throat was slashed. They think he died about 30 hours before the body was found.

Thanet’s daughter, Sawittree Yabuha, told police she’d last spoken to her father on Monday morning and he was in possession of Bt7,000.

When he failed to come to their home for lunch on Tuesday afternoon, she phoned him, but got no response. She and other relatives went to check and found the body. The cash he’d had was missing.
